Is it okay to leave my pit/rottweiler mix and baby in the same room together alone?

A Pitt mix with a Rottweiler wow a very powerful mix indeed. Since this dog not only has one powerful breed it has two and these two breeds are known for powerful force and aggression. The dog should not get too close to the newborn baby. You can allow him to look but not come near. You know your dog better than any of us so you should know when it's about to pounce, bark, bite because of the body language. When he is about to try something bad you have to address it immediately in order for the dog to understand his limitation towards the newborn. You can train him the command "leave it" with treats and soon he will understand what you mean when you say leave it if he is coming too close to the newborn. It is very important to let the dog see the baby so he can get use to the baby's scent and features. Don't allow him to jump on your wife when she's carrying the newborn which also has to be addressed. It'll take time for the dog to adjust but he will adjust soon.

I hope you're trolling because if you aren't, you have quite possibly the worst dog trainer I've ever heard of.
Small children and dogs (ANY dog) should never be left unsupervised. It literally takes one second for your child to be seriously hurt or killed. Hell, there was an incident a few years ago where an infant was killed by a pomeranian, of all things.
You have a large, powerful dog and the fact that is already bit shows that she's either poorly bred or poorly trained. You need to find a better trainer before something worse happens. If that doesn't work, you'll need to find a rescue to take her.

Are you crazy? Your dog has already demonstrated aggressive behavior towards this baby, as well as biting her on the foot. You must not have any idea how powerful your dog is, as well as how fragile your newborn is. The last thing you want to do is take that idiot trainers advice and leave your baby on the floor smelling like food. That's just asking for a tragedy to happen.

I fear I may have been taken in by a troll, if so stupid me, if not, answer still stands.

NO this is not a good idea. Heck you already admit thsi dog is dangerous to new people. It is a wonder you have not already been sued.

You need to re-home the dog or put it down. Not kidding. I have been doing rescue for 10 years. A dog who shows aggression towards children CANNOT be tolerated. A growl is a bite that has not YET landed, but in your case, the dog has ALREADY bitten the child. Strange that you think that a bite to the foot is OKAY. (When it is to the face, it will be TOO LATE.) You are INSANE to keep it. The dog does NOT have a safe temperament. WHY would you risk your child's well-being?

If you just brought your daughter home and your dog has already bit the baby you need to keep separated at all times and IMO find another trainer. I would not trust any trainer that advises putting any child in a room with a mixed breed dog that is KNOWN to be very aggressive with any new person. If you think that you can retrain this dog then you are mistaken. Keep them apart before your dog fatally harms your daughter. This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen,

Why not just feed the baby to the dog and get it over with? Never leave any child unsupervised with any dog. Least of all a poorly trained aggressive dog!

I really hope that you are a troll. NO DOG should be left alone with a child, and NO DOG with a history of aggression should have any contact with a child. Ditch the mentally ill "trainer" and commit to keeping the dog and child apart entirely or euthanize the dog before your child is killed.

Leaving ANY dog alone in the same room as a baby is a terrible idea. I feel like a little too much effort went into this one, but it was amusing nonetheless.

Just to be safe I'd put the baby out of reach. If that dog harms your baby guess who's in the hook if a trial of jurors have to evaluate your case of negligence? It's you.

Are you stupid? I wouldn't leave my newborn daughter in a room alone with ANY dog, especially not one that has proven aggression issues.

WOW!! - I have NEVER seen a worse attempt at trolling in my life and that's saying something. It's actually laughable - so thanks for the funny of the day.

Such a stupid sad offence at trolling. And under anonymous get a life you little loser troll and some balls little anonymous boy. <
